Hey friends! I’m back to invite you into my blanket for the new year. Holidays can be draining and you may need a break to face the new year ahead. Don’t worry I got you covered. Come on in, take a load off and relax.
Food
A single serving chocolate lava cake. This is perfect if you want to stay in a treat yourself. You can even make it in the microwave if you don’t to mess with the oven! Score. Aaaaand it’s a healthier version so you don’t have to worry about breaking any new year’s resolutions you may have made.
Zucchini Fries. If you don’t mind the oven but want something savory these bad boys are so yummy! They give you that warm feeling you get from fries while using the zucchini that’s about to go bad in your fridge. (Maybe that’s just me…)
For your listening pleasure this song combines two of my favorite things. Dolly Parton and Pentatonix. Now I know the song itself may be a little dark I love it and it makes me happy? For whatever the reason I love it and think it may mix things up in your playlist.
If you’re not in the mood for any music but still need something to drown out the noise from the world Rainy Mood may have what you need. You can even add it as an app to the device of your choice. Sometimes having nothing but the simple sound of rain can help relax your mind and soul.
If you haven’t started watching yet let me recommend the glorious TV show that is Yuri!!! On Ice. I can’t stress how well this show is done. Even thinking about it makes me happy. It was truly a bright spot in 2016. You can go here to get the full info on what the show is about.
If you’re not up for anything that involves plot (I’ve been there.) Bob Ross is now on Netflix! His soothing voice and gentle nature may be what you’re looking for. When I watch him I feel like I could totally paint like he does. Plus, who doesn’t love “happy trees”?
As far as reading goes, I’m going to reread Pride and Prejudice in the next few weeks. I simple love this book. It’s aged well and still makes me swoon. Bonus it’s free to read should you decide to do so.
